New Society Solution Forum:

Bryce Web Group has developed a Society Solution forum, running on the CPAMix engine, that will allow CPA Society staff to discuss projects, ideas and capabilities with each other in a forum that supports both email-to-website, listserv-like communication, as well as on-website discussion and interaction that will foster the creation of interest groups and collaborative efforts.

Nick asked if the society members on the call were comfortable with being automatically added to the CPA Association group, or if they preferred to opt in on their own to that particular group.  Other groups will be on an opt-in basis.  MD, CT and VA all agreed that being added to the CPA Association group sounded fine to them, and might be an easier starting point for users.

CPAMix Reporting Features:

For the CPAMix engine, Nick has developed a reporting feature that provides day-by-day and annual statistics for various metrics relating to site use and interaction.  The system ties in to CRM data for the users, giving MACPA a more complete picture of how their users are interacting with the MACPA Groups site.

Nick proposed that, if Associations were interested, this capability could be developed for the customers using the CMS; the feature would use CRM information in Association-determined metrics to provide customers with a snapshot of how their site is being used.  This would require a donation, from potentially several societies, of 2-4 support hours (total, not each).  CT expressed interest in the idea.

Emily will send out a poll to determine what metrics are of most interest to the Associations, and what, if any, support Associations could donate toward this development.

Society Updates:

CT:

They had a bylaws vote/change in December, and their membership is now open to non-CPAs.  This has resulted in a revamping of their Join app and several membership features.  CPAMix is going to be launched soon for their membership, and they are looking forward to seeing how well the site is adopted.  They feel that their committees will particularly enjoy the communication capabilities.

GA:

Not much happening right now; working on developing a contract agreement for a site redesign.

MD:

Launching a full overhaul and redesign of their BizLearning site, which includes CPE courses that can be scheduled, vs. courses offered by the Association.  The catalog is designed to be able to drill down using categories and keywords instead of repeated searches.  This will hopefully be launched in May.  Other projects include some automation on pages with event lists, including dynamic content generation and attractive formatting.  Finally, there have been some shopping cart tweaks for their main site.

PA:

Working on beefing up the Aptify control integration with their mobile site, to develop the phase 2 offering of their mobile site, PA is working to slim down the Aptify controls to work more intuitively in a mobile setting.  They are working on setting up a tabbed CPE catalog, an email discussion solution update, and expanding the firm admin abilities for their members including larger multiple renewal capabilities.

SC:

Not much going on at the moment, other than developing a flex pass/bundle and save system.

TN:

Have launched their Self Study setup, and have already had members buy and complete tests.  Hoping to launch their mobile site in May.

VA:

Currently wrapping up the online membership application, which will intuitively tease out which billing category is best for potential members through a series of questions answered by the person using the application.  VA is hoping to launch their mobile site on May 1, with capabilities such as membership renewal, registration and contributions.  An upcoming project is the One-click/recurring payment system, that will provide an Amazon.com type of experience for checkouts, as well as the ability to set up automatic membership renewal or automatic recurring donations.  Also, VA is working to develop a modified volunteer search setup for their committees, a very flexible promotions system, and integrating responsive design for their full site.
